When you search on SeekOut, we only return candidates who match your query. For instance, if you search for the quoted phrase "process optimization expert" we will only return candidates who have that complete phrase somewhere on their profile.

When candidates are returned, we show a summary of their profile highlighting their experience and education. To make it easier to scan for relevant information in their profile summary, we highlight words related to your search in bold. For example, Process Optimization is in bold in this summary:

Our algorithm for highlighting terms in the summary is looser than our search algorithm. For this reason, you will sometimes see highlighted words and phrases which are not the full search term from your query. In the case above, for instance, we highlight Process Optimization even though the search was for the entire phrase "process optimization expert". Rest assured, the full phrase is somewhere on that profile, however.
