Adding Candidates to Messaging Campaigns

Candidates you find in SeekOut must be added to a project before you can add them to a message campaign.

Note: Depending on your plan, you may have access to two candidate engagement features in SeekOut: Candidate Outreach and Messaging. This article covers the Messaging feature. Candidate Outreach integrates message campaigns within your projects to make it easier to manage the prospects you find in SeekOut.

There are multiple ways to add candidates to a messaging campaign.

Before You Begin

Click the Get Email button to get a candidate's email address before adding them to a message campaign.

Candidates you find in SeekOut must be added to a project before you can add them to a message campaign. For more information on adding a candidate to a project, see the article How to use Projects.

Add One Candidate 

Click the Message button on a SeekOut profile and select Add to Campaign. The "Add to a Message Campaign" pop-up appears. Choose a campaign from the dropdown menu.

Click the Add to Campaign button to confirm your selection and close the pop-up. Candidates added to a campaign that has already started will be sent their first automated message after 20 minutes.

Add Multiple Candidates

Check the box next to each candidate profile to select it. Click More... at the top of the candidates list, then choose Add X to Messaging Campaign.

The "Add to a Message Campaign" pop-up appears. Choose a campaign from the dropdown menu. Click the Add to Campaign button to confirm your selection and close the pop-up. Candidates added to a campaign that has already started will be sent their first automated message after 20 minutes.

Add All Candidates in a Project

Without selecting any candidates, click More... at the top of the list of candidates in a project and select Add All to Messaging Campaign.

The "Add to a Message Campaign" pop-up appears. Choose a campaign from the dropdown menu. Click the Add to Campaign button to confirm your selection and close the pop-up. Candidates addedto a campaign that has already started will be sent their first automated message after 20 minutes.

Upload from a Spreadsheet

SeekOut allows you to upload your own list of candidates in a CSV format. To do this, go to the messaging campaign and click on the Candidates tab. Scroll down and click Upload a spreadsheet.

Your spreadsheet must be a .CSV file and needs to be formatted a specific way. Each candidate must include a first & last name, company, title, LinkedIn URL, email, and phone number. Use the example CSV file provided by SeekOut to format your list of candidates before uploading to your campaign.

After uploading your spreadsheet, click Refresh Candidates on the candidate list to see the candidates added to your campaign.

Removing and Reverting Completed Candidates from a Campaign

Once all of your messages in a campaign have been sent or the candidate has replied to one of your emails, that candidate's status will be changed to Completed. To view these candidates, open the messaging campaign, go to the Candidates tab, scroll down and select More

Click the three-dot menu to the right of the candidate name to see two options.

  • Revert Candidate puts the candidate back into the messaging campaign you've selected. SeekOut will resend your campaign messages to this candidate again.

  • Remove from Campaign removes the candidate from the messaging campaign entirely.
