SeekOut integrates with your Lever account, allowing you to export candidate information from SeekOut and turn it into Lever candidate profiles complete with contact information and work/education history. Candidate data can be sent to Lever as prospects or attached to an existing job.

This article covers how to set up your integration, as well as how to export candidate info from SeekOut to Lever.

Setting up the Lever Integration

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to Lever's data API in order to integrate with SeekOut. Lever Enterprise and Lever Professional are supported.
  • The user who sets up the integration must use the exact same email for SeekOut and Lever. These emails are case sensitive.

See the article How can I change the email address I use to sign into SeekOut? for help changing your SeekOut login email to match your Lever login email.

Setting Up Lever

Login to Lever and go to Settings > Integrations and API. Select the API Credentials tab and click Generate New Key under the Lever API credentials section.

Click Copy Key and save it somewhere safe. You'll need to enter this key in SeekOut later.

Scroll down and select the following permissions:

Read Endpoints Write Endpoints
  • read user
  • read posting
  • list users
  • list postings
  • create candidate
  • add opportunity source
  • add candidate tag
  • add candidate posting
  • apply to posting
  • add candidate source
  • add candidate link

Click Done.

Accessing Integrations

Click your initials at the top right of the SeekOut dashboard, then select Integrations.

Don't see the Integrations option in your menu? Contact your Customer Success Manager or support@seekout.io and ask to enable ATS integrations for your org.

Connecting to Lever

On the Integrations page, locate Lever One-Way Export and click the Connect button.

Enter Lever in the Name field, your API Key, and select Production in the Environment dropdown. Click Save to complete your integration.

The first time you set up an integration, a connection test will automatically begin.

Testing Your Integration

SeekOut automatically tests your integration after the first time you set it up. Select a job from the dropdown list and click Send Test Candidate to export a test candidate to your ATS.

When successful, Lever will appear under the section My Organization's Integrations with the label "Connected." Test your integration again at any time by returning to the integrations page, clicking the three-dot menu next to the name, selecting Edit, and then click Test.

What do I do if my test was unsuccessful?

Confirm that your info is entered correctly in the integration pop-up. If you make any changes to your info, click Save first and then click Test to try again with your updated credentials.

If you've confirmed your connection info is correct and you're still unable to connect, reach out to your Customer Success Manager or email support@seekout.com for assistance.

Removing the Integration

Click the horizontal three-dot button next to a connected integration to Edit or Remove the integration from your SeekOut account. Removing an integration will delete your credentials, and you will have to re-enter them if you want to connect again.

Before using the integration for the first time, you will need to authenticate your login information. Navigate to a SeekOut project and click Export at the top right of your candidates. Click Authenticate with Lever and login to your Lever account. Authentication will automatically happen after you login.

Exporting to Lever

Recommended: Export from a project

To export all candidates in a project to Lever, go to your SeekOut project, click Export and choose Export All to Lever.

Contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers will only appear in your export if you click Get Email for All and Get Phone for All before exporting.

Alternatively, you can export select candidates from SeekOut by clicking the box next to their profile, clicking Export and then selecting Export X to Lever. With both methods, clicking Export to Lever will cause a pop-up window will appear.

You can select a job from the dropdown menu or export the candidates as prospects. If your ATS does not support candidate profiles without email addresses, check the box Generate dummy email addresses for candidates. Click the Export button to export candidates to Lever. If successful, you will see a confirmation pop-up message that says "Export Complete."
