Exporting SeekOut Data to an Excel File

You can export candidate information from SeekOut to an Excel file. Excel files exported from SeekOut are comma-separated value spreadsheets that can contain candidate information, illustrative graphs, and other insights. The contents of an Excel file depend on where the export is performed.

Exporting Insights

From the Insights page, click the Export button.

A pop-up confirmation will appear. Click Download to your computer to download the .xlsx file to your computer. Click View in Excel Online to open your Excel file in your browser.

Excel files downloaded from the Insights page contain top-down lists and graphs of the demographics of potential candidates, such as their current company, location, and diversity.

Details about specific candidates can be exported from your Projects or search results.

Exporting from a Project

To export candidate information from a Project, go to the Project, click the Export icon at the top of the candidate list, then select Microsoft Excel.

A pop-up confirmation will appear. Select SeekOut Standard from the dropdown menu to export candidates to an Excel file. See the article What is ATS Export? for more information about other export formats.

Click Download to your computer to download the .xlsx file to your computer. Click View in Excel Online to open your Excel file in your browser.

Excel files downloaded from Projects will contain information from your candidates' SeekOut profiles.

Contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers will only appear in your spreadsheet if you click Get Email for All and Get Phone for All before exporting.

Export select candidates

To export select candidates to an Excel file, select the candidates by checking the box next to their profile. The Export All button will change to Export X, with X being the number of candidates selected. Click this button to export your selected candidates to an Excel file.

Exporting Search Results

To export candidate information from your Search results, click More near the top right of the profile list, then click Export 10 to Microsoft Excel.*

A pop-up confirmation will appear. Click Download to your computer to download the .xlsx file to your computer. Click View in Excel Online to open your Excel file in your browser.

To export select candidates to an Excel file, select the candidates by checking the box next to their profile. The Export All button will change to Export X, with X being the number of candidates selected. Click this button to export your selected candidates to an Excel file.

Excel files downloaded from Search results will contain information from your candidates' SeekOut profiles. Contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers will only appear in your spreadsheet if you click Get Email for All and Get Phone for All before exporting.

*To change how many profiles you can export at once on your search results page, scroll down to the bottom of the profile list and click Show 10 results per page. You can choose to display 10, 25, 50, or 100 results per page.

Note about importing Excel files from SeekOut to LinkedIn Recruiter

LinkedIn Recruiter has specific requirements when importing a spreadsheet with candidate info.

  1. Download your spreadsheet to your computer.

  2. Open the file with Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet editor.

  3. Delete any candidates from the spreadsheet that do not have an email associated with them.

  4. Save the spreadsheet as a CSV (comma delimited) file.
